Niika Daria’s work with the Shaun Miller Foundation

Whilst completing a Bachelor of Science, Niika pursued her passion of Film and TV and proudly produced her own show at Gasworks Theatre, ‘Lay Me Down to Sleep’ went on to do main roles in Neighbours and Eugenie Sandler on the ABC followed by 2 fabulous years as a host for NOVA Radio in Perth.

She has been the face of large community campaigns such as National Youth Suicide Channels 10, the face of Westfield Shopping Centre MC all around Australia, including presenting the Loreal Fashion Awards.

As a testament to her willingness to push boundaries, she was the last female standing on the iconic show Fear Factor on channel 7

Her experience in the TV industry has resulted in a range of amazing opportunities and after the passing of her 35-year-old Brother from a Heart Defect Niika became more involved in philanthropy. Living in India for two years working with homeless children, Niika created her own charity organisation: “The Mateship Program” which was successfully introduced into schools around Australia.

During her time in India Niika became a Yoga and Meditation teacher as well as a NLP therapist and now in 2022 is working tirelessly to produce her first feature documentary, which shines a light on people suffering from Neurodiversity and showcases how these people find a place in society that is full of hope and meaning.

“It’s an absolute honour to now be the CEO of The Shaun Miller Foundation. I hope to carry my brothers legacy into the work we do here and to make both my brother and Shaun proud of how we help other families experiencing the tradgedy of congenital heart illnesses”

Niika remarks in regards to collaborating with the Foundation  an Australian foundation that focuses on ‘mending broken hearts’ offering support, education and care for patients and families faced with cardiac problems.
